Having highlighted the important considerations in advance we can now simply focus on the steps for selling cryptocurrency for fiat and withdrawing the balance.
We’re going to use selling bitcoin for euro as our example i.e BTC/EUR and assume that you want to sell at the current price – aka a Market Order. We explore different order options in our How to Trade section, but are keeping this selling/withdrawal process as simple as possible.
Selling Your Crypto
- Login to your exchange account
- Navigate to the Markets/Trading section
- Select the BTC/EUR trading pair – selling bitcoin for euros
- Select Instant or Market as the Order Type taking the current price
- Input the amount of BTC you want to sell; make sure it doesn’t exceed your balance
- Review the amount in EUR the trade will give you
- Review the fee
- Once happy – hit the ‘Sell’ button & wait for the confirmation
Withdrawing Your Fiat
We are assuming that the Withdrawal process follows on directly after Selling. It also assumes that you have checked in advance the transaction time and fees associated with each available withdrawal method, and are comfortable with them.
- Go to your account dashboard
- Check your balance – the EURO amount should reflect the trade you just executed
- Navigate to Withdrawals; this may be under Payments or Banking
- Select from the available withdrawal options e.g Bank Transfer, Card, PayPal
- If your method is linked input the amount you want to withdraw
- If your method isn’t linked, input the details; for bank transfers provide a reference
- Double check the transaction details, then Submit
- At this point you may be asked to confirm the Withdrawal by clicking a link emailed to the address associated with the account.
- Go back to your account dashboard and review your Withdrawals
- You should see a Pending transaction
- Monitor this until processed then double check with the receiving account when it changes to Processed or Complete.
